The section purchases and catalogues books, periodicals, audiovisual and multimedia materials. It also prepares card catalogues of periodicals – alphabetical and content (according to UKD).
All the items published since 1974 were entered to an electronic catalogue, PROLIB. The automatic catalogue of the Pedagogical Library in Toruń is available on the Internet.
